Zug, August 4, 2025 The Zug-based consulting firm retailsolutions, one of Europe's leading SAP retail consulting firms, has comprehensively modernised the cross-border sales data processes at Avolta, the listed, world-leading Swiss travel goods retailer.
This has laid the foundation for innovative and scalable business processes in 70 countries and at over 1,000 locations, including airports, motorways, cruise ships and railway stations. The project focused on the introduction of the SAP POS DTA (POS Data Transfer and Audit) solution within a tight timeframe. Avolta faced the challenge of consolidating and efficiently processing sales data from a wide variety of POS (point of sale) systems worldwide. The existing IT landscape was limited by high system loads and inconsistent data structures. In just six months, retailsolutions worked with Avolta to implement a successful greenfield project that provides standardised and reliably consolidated sales data for consistent reporting. A customer-specific framework enables real-time reconciliation across countries and time zones, including error corrections. In addition, country-specific tax and regulatory requirements were taken into account individually, enabling a smooth international rollout in all 70 countries.
